This is a work in progress. Sorry for any problems using this site, I'm trying something cool, and learning, too.

Hi. My name is Daniel Robert Maurer, but lately I've been going by D. Maurer for no good reason. I write stories and poems and a little music. If you found this site, it is probably because you found me on Twitter, my virtual "Third Place," or Digg or some other site. You're welcome to be here, of course. Most of my stuff lately is on the blog I Have a Dog Named Gus, but I put the longer stuff here.

I am currently a part-part-time graduate student at Northern Illinois University. For a living, I am a Technical Writer (and other things) for a small pharma repackaging company, which I like. I have done freelance webdesign and I do, really, have a dog named Gus. Also children and a wife and a cat.

Despite appearances, I can tend to be kind of an organizational freak, so I have included things I like in a list form. Think of this as the list Facebook allowed you to enter before they started making everything pages in an attempt to monetize what you like.
